חיפוש ספרים בספרייה לפי מספר מדף:

ספריות משתמשות בשיטות מיון על מנת לסדר את הספרים במדפים לפי נושאים כך שכל ספרים באותו נושא יופיעו ביחד.
בספריית הרמן משתמשים בשיטת מיון של ספריית הקונגרס אשר מבוססת על אותיות ומספרים (מספרי מדף).
